Registration is underway for the Firefly Nights 5K Run & Walk on Friday, May 17 at 9 p.m. in downtown Bowling Green.
The run and walk kicks off the street festival series, and serves as a fundraiser for the events.
Registration is $25 and includes a reflective Firefly Nights 5K t-shirt. The t-shirt is guaranteed only for those who register by May 5.
Already about 100 participants have signed up.

Registration also includes illuminated running sticks.
Registrations will be accepted the day of the event and cost $30.
The run/walk will begin and end behind the Wood County District Public Library.
There will be awards in Downtown Dollars for the first ($100), second ($75), and third ($50) place male and female finishers.
Chip timing is provided by Dave’s Running. Snacks will be provided by Qdoba.
Firefly Nights summer festivals will be held the third Friday of June, July, and August 6-10 p.m. with a Fall Festival planned for Oct. 18.
Organizers will be working with city crews to insure safety on streets that are undergoing construction.
