The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:
A weather event moving through today (Jan. 25) will present Wood County with some potential weather concerns. Rain will be starting around 3 p.m. in Wood County progressing to freezing rain and snow around 4 p.m. The freezing rain is expected to continue off and on through noon on Tuesday. Snow will be in two parts: The first snow fall is tonight beginning at 4pm to midnight with an accumulation of an inch or less. The second snow fall is anticipated Tuesday 1 p.m. through midnight with less than half an inch of additional snow.
The main concern with this weather event will be the freeze along with the potential of downed power lines and hazardous roadways.
As we are going between snow and freezing rain a few degrees could change these estimates. The EMA will continue to monitor providing pertinent updates as they become available.
