WGTE to air celebration of area church organs

“WGTE Presents: Christmas and the King of Instruments,” celebrating Toledo’s grand organs and sacred spaces, will premiere on WGTE HD on Sunday, December 26 at 7 p.m. Following the premiere on television, it will also air on FM 91 on Wednesday, December 29 at 7 p.m.

Featured churches include Epworth United Methodist, St. Michael’s in the Hills, St. Paul’s Episcopal and Rosary Cathedral. The program 

“WGTE is always on the lookout for ways to raise the visibility of the immense talent we have in our own backyard. It seemed like a natural fit to showcase some of our beautiful sacred spaces at Christmas time. Organ music, not to mention the instrument itself, has a long and spectacular history, and these four organs and organists speak to the variety and virtuosity of the repertoire,” said show host and WGTE Radio Manager Brad Cresswell.

“WGTE Presents: Christmas and the King of Instruments” is the 37th show of the WGTE Presents series. Recent year’s productions have included the Toledo Ballet’s 79th Annual Nutcracker, Christmas with the Tower Brass Quintet, Jazz in the Garden, and more.
