From WOOD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Wood County Commissioners will present the 2026 State of the County address on Tuesday, March 24, in the Alvin L. Perkins Atrium at the Wood County Courthouse in Bowling Green. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 8 a.m.
Wood County Commissioners Doris Herringshaw, Craig LaHote, and Ted Bowlus will highlight accomplishments and major projects from 2025 and opportunities and plans for 2026, including countywide celebrations for America 250, a national and statewide campaign to commemorate the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
As part of these observances, the commissioners will participate in a ceremonial planting of a white oak tree provided by the America 250-Ohio Commission, which is coordinating resources and engagement across the state. A white oak will be planted in every county across Ohio as a shared symbol of legacy, resilience, and the next 250 years of American history.
Guest speakers joining the commissioners for the address include Wood County Auditor Matthew Oestreich and Common Pleas Judge Matthew Reger.
This event is presented in partnership with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by the Wood County Economic Development Commission, McDonald’s, Call of the Canyon Cafe, and The Morning Show BG.
People can RSVP by calling 419-353-7945 or emailing events@bgchamber.net.
