Update: Wood County under level 3 snow emergency

Wood County will downgrade to level 2 at 10 a.m.

Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn has placed Wood County under a Level 3 Snow Emergency effective 2:32 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 16).

All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on roads may subject themselves to arrest.

According to the National Weather Service the winter storm warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. today (Feb. 16) for portions of Northwest Ohio.

Heavy mixed precipitation is occurring. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
