Wood Haven Health Care has named Emily Aurand as the facility’s new director of nursing. Aurand is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she earned her bachelor of science in nursing.
Aurand has been with Wood Haven since November of 2022. She started as a registered nurse/unit manager and was promoted to assistant director of nursing in June 2023. During her time as assistant director of nursing, she played a role in supporting the nursing department and helping the facility maintain high standards of care.
Aurand is a graduate of Elmwood High School. In addition to her nursing degree, she has also completed additional training in infection prevention and emergency management.
“Growing up in this area makes this opportunity even more special to me,” Aurand said. “This is my community, and being able to care for the people who live here means a great deal. It’s rewarding to know that I can give back to the same community where I grew up and hopefully make a positive difference for families right here in Wood County.”
“Wood Haven has become much more than just a place where I work. I’ve had the opportunity to grow as a nurse and as a leader while building relationships with our residents and employees. I’m excited to take on this new role and continue working with a team that genuinely cares about the people we serve,” she said.
