Bowling Green Police responded to Wood County Hospital on Saturday (Aug. 5) around 2:20 a.m. for a patient who had reportedly assaulted numerous employees in the emergency room.
Shortly after police arrived at the hospital, the man appeared to be in and out of consciousness. The staff determined they would sedate the patient and place restraints on him. As staff were putting on the restraints, the man reportedly woke up and became irate. The man reportedly began thrashing his arms and legs toward staff and police officers. One of the staff was kicked in the chest.
At one point, more than 10 hospital staff and officers were trying to subdue the man. Eventually the staff was able to inject sedatives intravenously.
