From BEEKER’S GENERAL STORE
PEMBERVILLE—Beeker’s General Store is pulling together some of the best food vendors for its 7th annual taste-testing extravaganza. The public is invited to “Sampling Saturday” on Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to Sunday, Jan. 26.
The unique event, held in advance of “The Big Game” in February, provides ample opportunity to try some of the store’s food products including Amish edibles, local honey, maple syrup, homemade baked goods, locally blended teas, Gianno’s chocolates, Sechler’s pickles, Faro coffee, Brownwood Farms mustards and BBQ sauces.
In addition to sampling and purchasing some of the food products, guests will have a chance to meet and ask questions of our Creative Community Chefs (The 3Cs) and vote for the “People’s Choice” recipe that best tantalizes your taste buds.
Local “celebrities” and residents are participating in the contest. Each chef is given a mystery brown bag containing a product that the store sells. They asked to create a delicious, “cooked”recipe using their mystery item and provide 75-100 samples for taste testing.

Those wishing to participate and compete for the “Peoples Choice” recipe contest should contact the store by calling 419-287-3274.
Jan. 8 is the date for chefs to pick up their mystery product bags. A copy of the recipe (and any special requests) should be emailed to info@beekersgeneralstore.comby Jan. 18 so the recipe can be copied, and provided to guests.
Chefs are asked to bring their finished and ready-to-serve recipe to the store by 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 25. Beeker’s will provide toothpicks, sampling cups, chafer dishes or other items needed for the sampling. The chef who creates the winning recipe will receive a $100 gift certificate to Beeker’s General Store.
The shelves will be brimming with edible favorites to stock up and take home to create delicious appetizers, savory main dishes, and sweet treats for the “Big Game” and beyond.
