My Dad used to always say to me, in instances where I retaliated or attempted to physically retaliate against anyone who had hurt me, “Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Right, Raymond”. Apparently the party formerly known as the Republican Party, doesn’t feel that applies, and their current statement contained within their censure of Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger,and their defense of the violent, venom spewing, foolish people who defiled our Capitol, speaks volumes as to what they stand for. It’s definitely not Democracy!.
So, this being the case, I guess then it should be perfectly legal and ok for me, members of the Democratic Party, and anyone else who supports one of our candidates, to forcibly enter the Ohio State House, The Wood County Court House, or anywhere else that counts votes and certifies elections, and kidnap, assault, or murder anyone when one of our candidates loses! Right?
I’m sorry to tell my dissatisfied, angry, white neighbors who overwhelming handed Former President Trump our state’s 18 electoral votes by majority vote in Wood County, but that’s not the way it works. The justifications that were given before January 6th,and right now by office holders, party members, and neighbors who support these grotesque views, sound like they come right out of the pages of fascism 101!
I think my dissatisfied neighbors need to make a decision, support Democracy and the rule of law,or get out of our country and move in with Trump’s friends Vlad or Kim!
You can’t say that you are a patriot, when you believe in despotism! I would not stand for it if Obama tried it, and I certainly won’t accept it from Trump or his cult followers. These people are nuts!
I’m sure Mr. Editor, that tons of people will fill your Inbox with Op Ed’s full of threats, imbecilic delusional nonsense about election fraud, or comparisons with the massive protests that were a result of the indiscriminate murder of George Floyd at the hands of police, and the instances of theft, violence, and murder that occurred during a few of them, but let us keep in mind, that there were also counter protesters, and disguised federal officers, who were committing tons of atrocities in retaliation, making once again true my previous statement, Two Wrongs Never Makes Anything Right! Regardless of anyone’s views, no one has the right to call any of these instances ” Civil Discourse” most especially any members, or elected officials from any party. None of this nonsense is helping anyone!
In closing, I think it’s time for Mr. Jakubowski and Mr. Latta to grow a spine and make a statement condemning the current statement put out by The GOP Leadership, and the continued seditious and delusional statements being made by Former President Trump and his supporters in Congress. Mr. Trump lost the election, and then unleashed a medieval mob on Congress, in an illegal attempt to stay in power! The Committee currently investigating the disgrace that occurred on January 6th,are the real patriots in this country, and those condemning them, and perpetuating Trump’s lies, are in effect traitors. If they aren’t then I guess it’s time for the WC Democratic Party to arm ourselves to the teeth with any weapons we can get our hands on, and storm the courthouse the next time one of our candidates loses! Two Wrongs, never, ever, make anything, including elections, right!
