Downtown BG utility project continues moving northward

The contractor working on the Bowling Green downtown utility project has completed the installation of a new waterline along Main Street, from Ordway through Pearl Street.

Work during the week of Feb. 25 is focused between Washington to just south of the Clough intersection.  As a result, the intersection of South Main Street and Washington has been impacted – primarily involving access to West Washington from South Main.

This portion of the intersection will be closed through Feb. 28.  It is anticipated that the intersection will reopen in the evening on Friday, March 1.

Traffic along South Main Street within the construction zone will be maintained with one lane in each direction on the eastern portion of Main.

Construction crews are scheduled to continue north with the Clough intersection possibly closing during the week of March 4.  All work is weather permitting.

The utility portion of this project is anticipated to last through the spring of 2019.  Once complete, a contractor will repave the downtown.
