Dueling Pianos return to BG for Rotary Club fundraiser

From ROTARY CLUB OF BOWLING GREEN

It’s back! Piano Wars, Rotary Club of Bowling Green’s annual fundraising event, returns April 21 with all of the proceeds donated to local and global causes. The fun-filled evening at the city park’s Veteran’s Memorial Building begins at 6 p.m. with food, drinks, and dueling pianos as entertainment throughout the evening.

“We’ve hosted this fun event for 11 years, and the audience continues to grow as the word spreads that this is a good time and supports worthy causes,” says Trevor Jessee, president of the BG Rotary Club. ” Last year, for example, the event raised money to help build the new inclusive playground in Carter Park. This year, in addition to the monthly contributions Rotary makes to the Brown Bag Food Project, and other food pantry’s, we understand the need for food assistance is greater than ever, and we want to do more. Piano Wars willmake that possible.”

The evening is casual, both in dress and the program. There will be many silent auction items for guests to bid on throughout the evening, as well as some special items auctioned off by WTOL’s Ryan Wichman. The dual pianos, performed by the nationally known tour company out of Detroit, will provide music from a variety of styles and eras, many of which the audience will know the words to and can sing along.

The dinner is being catered by Beckett’s restaurant, a local favorite. The menu’s theme is Italian and the buffet includes Italian sausage, marinated chicken, vegetarian lasagna, rotini pasta, marsala sauce, meat sauce, mixed vegetables medley, Caesar salad, bread sticks and dessert. Drinks will be served throughout the evening.

Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased from any Rotarian or online at www.rotarybg.org.

Bowling Green’s Rotary is a service club. Its sole purpose is to serve. Rotary is worldwide and is the oldest service club in the world. Past Piano War events have supported many worthy projects and programs; most recently the inclusive playground at Carter Park, emergency defibrillators located throughout downtown, Wooster Green Archway, the Wintergarden Park Nature Center, Bowling Green’s City School Scholarships and Student Athlete of the Week, and many more.
