La Conexion will be celebrating its 5th anniversary and Hispanic Heritage Month this Saturday October 6 at Veterans Hall in City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
This year, La Conexion is recognizing six institutions who have specially supported its establishment and work during these past five years. These are: The First Presbyterian Church of BG, The Cocoon, Grounds for Thought, The City of Bowling Green, the Toledo Catholic Diocese, and the La Conexion Immigrant Solidarity Committee.
Program starts at 6 p.m. with a meal, Latino dance lessons and Mexican paper flower making demonstration. The recognitions will be presented from 7 to 8 PM. A dance folllows until midnight.
