NAMI teams up with Depressed Cake Shop at fair

(Submitted by National Alliance on Mental Illness)

One in five people will suffer from, or be touched by, a mental health issue at some point in their lives.

The Depressed Cake Shop is a unique (and delicious) platform designed to raise awareness of these challenges. With the help of our co-conspirators, pop-up bakeshops happen worldwide and sell highly customized baked goods as a way to get people talking about mental illness.

NAMI Wood County will be hosting a pop-up Depressed Cake Shop at their Wood County Fair booth Monday, July 30, through Saturday, Aug. 4. This one of a kind fundraiser, reminiscent of bygone-era bake sales, is a creative way to raise awareness and donations. Money raised from the bake sale will help NAMI Wood County continue to provide their free classes and support groups to community members.
