Poll workers at the Veterans Building in City Park reported brisk traffic, including lines forming as soon as the polls opened at 6:30 a.m.
At stake locally is the a $72.8 million bond issue to build a new Bowling Green High School.
Also, voters will elect three members to the five-member Board of Education. Candidates are Brian Paskvan, Peggy A. Thompson, Stephen Bateson, Joe Edens, Steven Goyer, Howard “Ardy”. Gonyer, and incumbent Tracy Hovest.
At the city level, incumbent mayor Mike Aspacher, a Democrat, is facing a challenge from Green Party candidate Joe DeMare.
There are to contested council races with Republican Eric Peck facing off against incumbent Democrat Jeff Dennis for the at-large seat, and Democrat Damon Sherry and Republican David Drain vying to represent the first ward.
Ohio has attracted attention nationally for the move to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.
Also, voters will decide whether to legalize marijuana for recreational use.
