With the COVID-19 crisis, local businesses have taken significant hits. To assist with raising funds as well as spark unity among businesses and the community, Ortinau Art, a local screen printing company, has launched an online T-Shirt campaign. The message is clear, “Support Where You Live: Shop Local.”
Ortinau Art has already teamed up with over 60 area businesses and looks to continue launching campaigns for additional Northwest Ohio communities. While the overall message of ‘Shop Local’ is highlighted in every design, community names are also included in each fundraiser to showcase hometown pride. The back of the shirt lists every business participating in the local campaign. Currently, the Eastwood and Bowling Green communities have live web stores with the Perrysburg fundraiser launching soon.
“During this time of hardship, we want the focal point to be on supporting one another and coming out of this stronger than before. This is one of the enjoyable aspects of my industry. I have the ability to connect with people and use my craft to help others through these campaigns by sending a portion of each shirt sale to one of our hard working local businesses. This is more than a T-Shirt. It’s about coming together as a community to show love and support to the local businesses that have always been here for us. What better way to demonstrate that support than by sporting the ‘Shop Local’ message on your shirt?” said Joe Ortinau, Owner of Ortinau Art, LLC.
T-Shirts are $20 plus shipping. All sales are online and during the checkout process, buyers will select one of the participating businesses to receive a portion of the sale to help generate money back into our local businesses during this time of need.
