WGTE to present documentary ‘Speaking Grief’ along with panel discussion

WGTE Public Media and Good Grief of Northwest Ohio present, “Let’s Get Better at Grief”, a candid and educational exploration of the universal, yet individual, experience of grief, Wednesday, Nov. 18,at 8 a.m. This virtual event will include a screening of the documentary Speaking Grief, a live panel discussion with local grief experts, and an opportunity to earn CEUs. Event registration is required by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15. An encore broadcast of the documentary, Speaking Grief, will air Nov. 23 at 10 p.m. on WGTE HD.

This documentary and discussion will explore the experience of losing someone in a death and grief-avoidant society. Participants will be encouraged to rethink their ideas of what supporting a grieving person looks like and that grief is a problem that needs to be “fixed.”

This virtual event is free for the general public and $30 to earn CEUs. The following credits have been approved: Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for 3.0 CEUs, approval #MCST11202122, 3.0 CEUs for Educators, 3.0 CEUs for Funeral Directors – Program Oe-002736.

Speakers will include Dorothy Mockensturm – Managing Director, Good Grief of Northwest Ohio, Shana Sadoski – Program Director, Good Grief of Northwest Ohio, Rickisha Lloyd, BA (Psych/Sociology), MS – Therapist, Sister Rachel Nijakowski – Psychologist and Executive Director, The Sophia Center, and Dr. Colleen Olszewski – MD Pediatrics, Promedica.
