Zilaha B. Hawkins, 89, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Monday May 29, 2017. She was born August 19, 1927 in Bowling Green to Clifford and Nora (Baird) Abbott. She married Mervyn A. Hawkins December 19, 1979 and he preceded her in death January 8, 1987.
Zilaha was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Cygnet, Ohio where she played piano and sang in the choir. She worked as a cook at BGSU for many years. Zilaha will be most remembered by her family as a caring and giving mother.
Along with her husband Mervyn, Zilaha was preceded in death by her brothers Glen Abbott and James Abbott, sisters Marian Martin, Donella Harris, Viona Hammersmith and Inzie Hyatt.
She is survived by her son Jim (Barbara) Wolff of Millbury, Ohio, her granddaughter Brooke and sisters Eleanor Anderson and Lenor Davis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. The funeral service will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery in Arcadia, Ohio.
