According to co-owner Ardy Gonyer, “For four months there was constant clamor,” about the status of Easystreet Cafe after the establishment experienced a fire on Jan. 24. People wondered if and when it would re-open and if French onion soup would still be on the menu.

Members of the community will be glad to know that Easystreet Cafe has fully re-opened and French onion soup can still be found on the menu. To commemorate its reopening, Easystreet Cafe hosted a ribbon-cutting with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce on June 30.

While the restaurant was closed, Gonyer said it became clear that Easystreet Cafe was “very loved” by the community.

Co-owner Tim Emmerich said he feels as though the community truly owns Easystreet Cafe, and that he and Gonyer are only stewards of it.

Both Gonyer and Emmerich shared their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the people of Bowling Green.

Easystreet Cafe will celebrate 39 years in business as of November of 2026. Its menu features burgers – including bison and elk, steak, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and more. The business and its upstairs bar, The Hideaway Cocktail Lounge, employ approximately 50 staff members.
