BG teachers may get vaccines Feb. 19 – so kids may be back in classrooms week of Feb. 22

Bowling Green City Schools has received information from the state, indicating that the district’s staff may be getting COVID-19 vaccinations on Feb. 19 – meaning that students would be returning to the classrooms the week of Feb. 22.

Superintendent Francis Scruci sent the following letter out to parents and guardians this afternoon:

“As most of you may be aware, the Board of Education met last night and decided that we would return to school after our staff have received their first vaccination.  Today, the Governor’s office released the list of what counties and districts are included in week 3.  COVID-19 Schools Included in Vaccine Distribution Week 3.pdf

“We will be meeting with the Wood County Health Department to get more details but we believe at this time that the vaccination date will be February 19, 2021.  Based on last night’s vote, the Bowling Green City Schools will return to school in the Hybrid Model (sent January 11, 2021) the week of February 22, 2021.  More details will be shared once those are known.”
