The Wood County District Public Library Board of Trustees took action to enable the library to spend money through the state to pay for expenses incurred because of the pandemic.
The library has received $50,000 of funds in federal CARES funds through the state. That’s $25,000 for each of the systems two libraries, one in Bowling Green and one in Walbridge.
In order to spend the money, Linda Joseph, the fiscal officer, explained, the library must submit a revised appropriation.
The money will have its own line item.
Library Director Michael Penrod said that Joseph is receiving additional guidance on what that money can be spent on.
“We have all kinds of expenses this can be used for,” Board President Brian Paskvan said.
Those expenses could be for costs already incurred or future needs.
Also, at the meeting John Fawcett was elected to serve as the board’s secretary. Chet Marcin, who left the board in summer, had been in the post.
Fawcett’s term will last until early next year when board officers will be elected.
