The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has identified Derek Jones, 30, of Jerry City, as a possible suspect in a fatal crash that killed bicyclist Larry Sattler, 54, of Bloomdale Friday night.
Sattler was struck while riding on Oil City Road near the intersection of Cloverdale Road. The 911 call was received by the sheriff’s office at 8:18 p.m. Sattler was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jones was operating a dark blue Ford SUV.
Also responding to the crash were Bloomdale Fire Department and Bloomdale EMS.
The incident is under investigation.
