Variety of arts on display Friday at Art in the Park

The Bowling Green Arts Council and Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will host Art in the Park on the grounds of Simpson Garden Park, 1291 Conneaut Ave., on Friday (June 30) from 7-9 p.m. 

The event, free and open to the public, will feature live music, theatrical performances, artists painting on easels, dance and activities for children. Food trucks will be available as well.

Attendees will have an opportunity to view and vote for their favorite artist at work, enjoy music by local musicians and students of the BGSU College of Musical Arts, and performances by the Black Swamp Players. There also will be dance, hoop and yoga demonstrations.

Strolling and stationary musicians, dancers and music groups throughout the grounds will include Ceoltòirí Nua Irish music; Tim Tegge; Kazenodaichi Taiko; Bowling Green Guitar Circle; Black Swamp Drum Circle; and It’somewhat humanoid, Garrett Evans and friends, Tammyan Starr, Kathie Vanness and Nicole Kirian.

Visual artists in the gardens will include: Teresa Siwajek, Jennifer Roberts, Greg Justus, Lydia Horvath, Vicki Knauerhase, Linda Shetzer and Gordon Ricketts.

The Black Swamp Players will present a readers’ theatre performance at 7:10 and 8:30  in the Amphitheater.
