BG events offer the chance to buy directly from local artists & artisans

Grounds for Thought hosted its annual Holiday Boutique.

The holiday Christmas shopping season continued downtown today (Saturday, Dec. 3) with the chance to purchase from local artists and artisans.

Grounds for Thought hosted its annual Holiday Boutique featuring 20 vendors that continues until 4 p.m.

A painting by Josh Byers & pottery by Andrew Gilliatt are among the items on sale at Gallery 131 in downtown BG.

Gallery 131 was open for shopping from nine vendors offering decorative and functional arts and crafts. The gallery will be open Saturdays 10 am. to 6 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 17.

Adding to the holiday spirit was the Ghost of Marley from “A Christmas Carol.” The ghost portrayed by Dave Donley wandered through downtown making appearances at the boutique and Juniper Brewing  and elsewhere looking for Ebenezer Scrooge.

Dave Donley as Marley’s Ghost made his appearance in downtown BG Saturday.

Tonight ArtsX will offer the chance to purchase arts and crafts from BGSU students as well as experience a variety of activities. ArtsX: Experiment is open from 5-9 p.m. throughout the Wolfe Center and the Fine Arts Building. Click to view complete schedule of activities.
