Bowling Green Police responded to a suspected overdose Tuesday around 11:30 p.m., at a house in the 400 block of South Main Street.

The first officer on the scene found a 30-year-old man who did not appear to be breathing, had constricted pupils and reportedly had a fresh track mark on his arm. The officer began CPR, and another arrived on the scene and administered Narcan.

Bowling Green Fire Division then arrived and took over rescue efforts.

Police observed a glass bong with white residue in it, an uncapped used hypodermic needle, and a baggy with a white crystal substance inside.

The overdose victim was revived, and reportedly denied overdosing and refused to go to the hospital. First responders tried to convince the man to be transported to the hospital, and he agreed when he began having difficulty breathing.

At Wood County Hospital, the man was given more doses of Narcan, then had to be placed into a medically induced coma.
