Please accept my expression of strong support for Judge Joel Kuhlman for re-election to the Wood County Court of Common Pleas. I have practiced law for 42 years, and I have been involved in over 150 jury trials and numerous other hearings throughout the state of Ohio. I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many judges throughout my career, and I can tell you without hesitation that Judge Kuhlman is the standard by which judicial officials should fulfill their obligations to the public.
I have appeared before Judge Kuhlman since his election to the Wood County Court of Common Pleas in 2020 and have witnessed the respect and cordiality Judge Kuhlman offers to the citizens of Wood County and the attorneys who appear before him, and the justice he ensures for the victims of crime in our county, especially the children who have been harmed. When I appear before Judge Kuhlman in my capacity as a representative of the public, win or lose, I know we will be treated fairly.
I represented a party in Judge Kuhlman’s first jury trial after he assumed the bench in 2021, as the newly-elected Common Pleas Court Judge. The matter could best be described as a complicated and horrible mess, full of emotion and life-changing drama. I was amazed at the grace and patience Judge Kuhlman extended as he dispatched his duties as the presiding judge. He certainly impressed upon me how one should conduct themselves in these difficult situations.
I wholeheartedly believe Judge Kuhlman will continue to serve Wood County with integrity, wisdom, and fairness.
