The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:
Wood County is under a “Slight Risk” (2 of 5) for severe weather Tuesday April 29.
Scattered rain showers are expected to move through our area by 6-7 a.m. Scattered showers and storm chances will remain 50-60% through the rest of the morning and afternoon hours as activity develops.
The key for Wood County will be the amount of cloud cover and rain during the morning hours. This will limit the instability and decrease the severity of the afternoon storms. Less rain and limited cloud cover will increase the potential for more severe storms in the afternoon.
As the front moves through the biggest threat will be wind gusts 50-65 mph and the potential for up to 2” hail, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Drier conditions are expected to return by 6-7 p.m.
NWS Cleveland just concluded our weekly update and will providing a Tuesday morning briefing should there be any significant changes.
