Driver in crash that killed two being charged with aggravated vehicular homicide

Samantha Hammons is being held in Wood County Jail

The driver of a vehicle that allegedly caused a three-vehicle crash that killed two people is being held in Wood County Jail on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. Her court appearance is set for today.

According to Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Samantha Hammons, 55, of Toledo, was driving 2018 Kia Soul at a high rate of speed westbound on Route 20 near Lemoyne Road in Troy Township on Saturday (12/9/23) when it struck the rear of a 2016 Ford Fusion, also westbound.

The collision caused the Fusion to spin into the eastbound lane where it was struck by a 2019 Dodge Journey operated by Zachery Bollinger.

The driver of the Fusion, Jacob Hahn, and the passenger in the car Savannah Harding, both of Woodville, died at the scene.

Hammons, was treated  and released and her passengers, Heather Hammons and Asia Hammons, both of Toledo, were not injured.

Bollinger, with passengers Megan Jock and Gabriella Bollinger, all of Clyde were transported to Mercy St. Vincent Toledo for treatment of minor injuries.
